Adult Enrichment

The Adult Enrichment Committee is committed to the lifelong learning and spiritual development of our congregation and community. We offer people the opportunity to grow, learn, explore, and share common interests and concerns consistent with our liberal religious traditions. We seek to accomplish this through offering a variety of short-term, as well as on-going, programs and groups.

If you have any questions about the programs of this committee please email office@melroseuu.org

Programs sponsored by the Adult Enrichment Committee:

Chalice Circles

A Chalice Circle is a small group of 8 to 10 people who meet regularly twice a month for spiritual, intellectual and social dialogue, and nurturing. Chalice Circles provide members, friends, and newcomers in our congregation the opportunity to talk about their individual spiritual development, as well as opportunities to get to know each other and to enhance the connections they already have. Chalice Circle are currently on hiatus.

Coffee, Crafts and Conversation

A way to finish those sewing, cross stitching, knitting, or other projects in a community setting visiting with friends at the church.

Learning Exchange

The Learning Exchange is a low-stress, short-term, intergenerational program designed to capitalize on the knowledge, talents, and interests of people in our community. We match "those in the know" who can teach a specific skill with "those who want to know" or learn a skill. Past matches included basic guitar, computer skills, gardening, sewing, and quilting. All topics are welcome. If you have a request or offering, please contact the Church Administrator.

Men's Group

The Men's Group of the church meets to plan activities for the year, such as the men's retreat (see below).

Men's Retreat

Each year the men of the parish are invited to attend a weekend retreat in early Spring. A team of folks are assembled to select a location and activities to work on during the retreat. Announcements about registration and location will be posted in the Events section of the website as they are known.

Women's Retreat

Each year the women of the parish are invited to attend a weekend retreat in Spring. The retreat is always full of fine company, lots of laughs, good food, thoughtful reflection, singing, and dancing. A team of folks are assembled to select a location and activities to work on during the retreat. Announcements about registration and location will be posted in the Events section of the website as they are known.

Writers Group

Begun in 2004, the Writers Group continues to be a successful program. Bill Trippe facilitates the group on the second and fourth Tuesdays, February - May, at 7:30pm in the Church Library. New members to the group are always welcome. All that is required is an interest in writing.
