Caring MinistriesThe Caring Ministries Committee promotes and encourages comprehensive and high level wellness for all members of the congregation through ongoing communications among: the Minister, the Parish Nurses, Helping Hands and the Caring Visitors Team. The committee was established in 2004, bringing all caring groups of the church together into a single committee for an organized effort to care for the congregation. For more information on any of these services, please contact the Church Office. Programs sponsored by the Caring Ministries Committee:Parish NursesThe mission of the Parish Nurses is to facilitate information to the congregation on a variety of health topics through forums, in-services and health fairs to refer congregants when appropriate to health professionals in the community, and to aid our Minister in visiting congregants who are house bound, in the hospital or a long term care facility. Helping HandsHelping hands provides meals, cards, rides and updates to the congregation via email or telephone tree on members who are in need of temporary services. Caring VisitorsThe Caring Visitors Team provides regular visits to members of the congregation who are in need of special care either short-term or ongoing. The purpose of these visits is to be compassionate listeners and provide a loving witness to feelings, thoughts, and concerns resulting from physical or emotional challenges. Through this witness, Caring Visitors intend to aid people making spiritual sense of their situation and, therefore, being better able to cope with their circumstances. As part of the mission, the Caring Visitors Team will ensure that no homebound member of the congregation loses the support of their church community.
