All are welcome to enjoy the splendor of autumn woods with the Green Sanctuary Walk in the Woods on Sunday October 27th at 1:00 PM. For this outing we are conducting our Friends of the Fells condition audit on the Crystal Spring Trails and other nearby trails. Participants can contribute to the audit by noting trail conditions which require maintenance and by collecting trash. Participants can choose from the following walking options:
Fall Colors: Enjoy the colors of the season with an easy to moderate hike though the upland woods on the Crystal Spring Path and around the base of the hill on the Whip Hill Path.
Rocky Ridge: For folks who enjoy a challenge of steep grades and rocky ridges take a moderate to difficult hike to the summits of Whip Hill and Saddleback Hill.
We will meet at the Crystal Spring parking area on the Lynn Fells Parkway at 1:00 PM. Green Sanctuary will designate a trail leader for each hike and provide a map of the area. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Overflow parking is across the street at Jerry Jingle Park, adjacent to JJ Grimsby’s.
