Team Ministry Update – New Timetable

At our March 19 meeting, the Board decided to delay MUUC’s process for selecting Ministry Teams for next church year. This will now happen sometime in the first half of the 2020-21 church year. Existing teams are encouraged to continue with their valuable work.
This decision was due to the extraordinary circumstances of the church’s – and everyone’s – response to the COVID-19 crisis.
The process will still be:
1) receive proposals
2) review them with the congregation
3) have priorities expressed with (hopefully) in-person “sticker vote.”
We have gratefully received one proposal, and have learned of substantial interest by two other groups.
We encourage groups to think about our social justice work going forward, and how this may be organized with our Ministry Team approach.

Guidelines for Team Ministry Proposals

  1. What is the purpose of the team?

  2. Relate the team’s purpose to the church’s mission.

  3. Describe the work and activities of the team.

  4. How will the team engage the MUUC community in its work and activities?

  5. How will the team engage the community beyond MUUC?

  6. Does the team expect the ministry to be carried out over a fixed time span?

  7. What resources might the team wish the the church to allocate to its work and activities.
